Soft, flowing, graceful and a refreshing change
Wave is the name given by Silent Gliss to their curtain rail system that creates a soft flowing "S" type heading for curtains & more particularly voile/sheer fabrics. As you can see from the above illustration the effect can be gracefully stunning, particularly in hotels and homes with large floor length glazed areas.
Here we look at the Translucent Wave heading tape that is designed for use with specialised Wave tracks or poles. How does it work? What are the most suitable fabrics and just how do you acheive this stunning look
So what's the best fabric for Wave?
There seems to be no hard and fast rule. Wave or "S" type headings are similar in a way to eyelet curtains in that they don't require a lot of fullness thus the thickness of the fabric is not really a factor.
However, the stiffness of the fabric could be........thus it is probably best to avoid stiffly woven fabrics. Voiles, sheers and soft plains work best
and how does it work?
by a combination of a special track/pole and a specific "S" type wave type curtain heading tape.
The special tracks and poles that create the "S" affect are now available from a number of suppliers and retail outlets
and then the translucent heading tape......
and that's about it....
Breakaway safety chain bracket
This is what makes this system so special
The breakaway chain bracket is set up to break under pressure of 5.5kg.
Should a child become entangled then the chain and cog simply break away harmlessly from the main bracket.
There is no permanent damage to child or blind. The cog + chain click back into place and the child is grounded for the week.
To re-install the cog+chain correctly
With every headrail is a shaped trimming block. What you don't want is to cut through the headrail and find your cut is anything but straight..........
The standard headrail sizes are 60cm, 90cm, 120cm, 150cm & 180cm but unfortunately there is rarely a standard window
Thus, if trimming is required.
